Guaranteeing Fiscal Space for Human Development in Morocco

Morocco is a middle-income country with a population of 30.5 million (according to 2006 census data) and a per capita income ¹ of 2346 dollars. Although it has made progress in the past few decades, it continues to be held back by considerable poverty, especially in rural areas; 22 per cent of the population lives in poverty.
