ABSTRACT
The reversible heat pump has been a standard design for all climates where air conditioning is essential. In 2003, Europe experienced the hottest summer in 200 years. Even in Austria and Germany there were over 49 days with temperatures above 30°C. The undeniable climate change offers an additional application for heat pumps in a heating/cooling configuration, even in moderate climates.
