ABSTRACT
Outdoor air is a heat source which is available anywhere and can be used without special permits. When outdoor temperatures fall, the heating requirements for a building increase. At the same time, the heating capacity and coefficient of performance of the heat pump decrease. With an integrated automatic defrost function, air/water heat pumps operate in temperatures as cold as –15°C or below.
