No One Else Is Doing Much, So You’d Better Do Something Yourself
Realizing that the ultimate responsibility rests on us, not on companies or political leaders, numerous individuals want to act on their own initiative. If the arguments in this book are correct, the only morally responsible position is to act on one’s own because no institution or market mechanism has any prospect of effective reduction of fossil fuel use. It is up to individuals; we cannot rely on governments. And because our own personal actions are responsible for a larger and larger share of the total, our responsibility is increasing.
