ABSTRACT

In the context of passive cooling, the term radiator denotes a device that is designed to dissipate heat from a building by means of long-wave radiation to the sky. The radiator may be an integral part of the building, or a device designed especially to dissipate heat from a heat transfer fluid, such as air or water. To cool a building, the radiator must be in good thermal contact with indoor spaces, or act in conjunction with an element of high thermal capacity that provides interim heat storage.
