ABSTRACT
This part of the handbook describes forest activities which will be very familiar to many forest managers. A handbook such as this cannot aim to provide a technical manual on all areas of SFM activities: this information must be found locally to ensure that it is adapted to prevailing conditions and fits with local or national best practice. Part Four aims to provide common approaches to forest management activities, and particularly to explain how the specific requirements outlined in Part Two can be met.
