ABSTRACT
Despite considerable improvements in forest management in many regions, many forests worldwide still do not meet certification requirements because forest management practices are well below the quality required by international standards. As a result, considerable work is required to implement all the changes needed to meet the standard. This presents huge challenges for forest managers, particularly if they have very limited staff and other resources to undertake the work.
