Formerly World Bank Senior Drainage Advisor (1998-2005); Chairman of the Egyptian Drainage Authority (1997-98) and Director of the Drainage Research Institute, Egypt (1992-97); Honorary Vice President of the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage; and member of the Governing Board of the Arab Water Council. Water resources management specialist, with a major interest in land drainage.
