ABSTRACT

Previous chapters of this book illustrate the diversity of evidence available on the impacts of tourism on poverty. Not only the data, but the methods used to generate them, vary enormously. This diversity undermines the comparability, which is one of the most significant obstacles to presenting a coherent synthesis on this topic.
