ABSTRACT
This chapter looks at the ways in which domestic households can currently userenewable energy to reduce carbon emissions. It addresses six types of technology: 1 solar photovoltaics; 2 wind turbines; 3 heat pumps; 4 solar hot water; 5 biomass for domestic heating; 6 fuel cells and small-scale combined heat and power (CHP).
