ABSTRACT

The Mount Kupe Forest Project (MKFP) was reopened in November 1997 by WWF, under contract with the government of Cameroon (GoC), as a designated Global Environment Facility (GEF) site. All GEF sites in Cameroon are coordinated by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MINEF), Yaounde. The MKFP is not a protected area, and as a project does not carry the same authority; but in exchange for research cooperation and assistance it is exploring ways to better define equitable research relationships.
