ABSTRACT

It is impossible to control a project without a plan. Without a plan you do not know whether you are ahead of the game, on target or way behind schedule. A plan gives you:

● Targets; ● The products needed to meet the targets; ● The work needed to create the products; ● The resources and skills needed to do the work; ● Any equipment needed by the resources; ● The sequence in which the products are required; ● The time it will take to create each product; ● A basis for work allocation; ● The ability to see product development matched with the resour-

ces across a timeframe; ● A view on whether the targets are achievable; ● A view of any risks inherent in the resources used and timing of

the plan; ● A communication device for all those involved in the plan.
