ABSTRACT

John P. Kotter is an iconic figure in the field of organizational change and transformation, both as an academic and as a professional. He has written extensively on the topic and is widely read and acknowledged by managers and academics alike. He is often referred to as a "change and management guru". In Leading Change, as in much of his work, Kotter opts for a conversational tone, using anecdote and analysis as if he were speaking directly to an audience of executives and business leaders. Born in 1947, Kotter holds degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard Business School, where he completed his PhD in 1972. Leading Change is a valuable text for many different people. Business students who know something of the problems associated with organizational transformation will be able to relate directly to the examples and concepts in the book.
