Assessing the Argument In writing Theology of Discontent Hamid Dabashi wanted to give “a larger community of readers [access] to the revolutionary ideas of the most important ideologues of the Islamic Revolution.”1 By examining the literature of eight important Iranian ideologues, Dabashi gives his readers a better understanding of the origins of the Iranian Revolution* than other texts, which mainly focus on historical events.
