ABSTRACT

Author’s Aims Hamid Dabashi wrote Theology of Discontent to simplify “the access of a larger community of readers to the revolutionary ideas of the most important ideologues* of the Islamic Revolution.”1 Dabashi felt there was a lack of scholarship in the West on the ideas of the revolutionary ideologues who helped develop Iran’s Islamic ideology.* He was convinced that interpreters and non-specialists needed a better command of these men’s ideas in order to inform their readers about why Iran acts the way it does.
