Development of Regional Economic Input–Output Life Cycle Assessment Models

All the previous chapters of this book describe an LCA model and its applications based on input–output matrices of the U.S. economy, and resource use and environmental emission factors based on resource consumption, emissions, and waste data at the national level. However, input–output models can be developed for any geographic region, enterprise, or economy. In this chapter, we present an LCA model based on regional economic input–output data and environmental emission factors.
