ABSTRACT
Necessarily, the federal statutes under which the Forest Service operates are framed in general terms. This applies to the more than eighty laws applicable to the Service and the national forests specifically as well as those that govern the whole federal establishment-laws on personnel, budgeting, purchasing, contracting, and other staff services.
