ABSTRACT

This chapter examines carbon nano tube (CNT) electronic properties, water dynamics, and molecular computers. The worldwide investment in nano research continues to increase at a double-digit rate, even though the fervour of business opportunities in nanotechnology has somewhat subsided. A single-walled CNT is basically constructed from a rolled-up graphene sheet. Water molecule is a key component to all lives. Seventy percent of the Earth is covered by water and more than 60% of human body is made up of water. The potential represents intramolecular interactions within a certain range of distances and intermolecular interactions elsewhere. Further simpification of the flexible simple point charge model was advocated by Teleman, Jinsson, and Engstrom who suggested simple harmonic forms for all vibration terms in the intramolecular potential. A successful working molecular computer will have a profound impact on every walk of life, and its enormous potential is beyond measure.
