ABSTRACT
In chapter 3 we looked at the description of current in classical electrodynamics and circuit theory. In this chapter the quantum physics approach is discussed. Such a approach is necessary because for microscopic device dimensions the classical theory does not correctly describe reality. The current will be discussed in case of both macroscopic and microscopic device dimensions.
