ABSTRACT

In the present chapter, the optical properties of a three-axial

nanoellipsoid and their influence on the radiation of atoms and

molecules placed in the vicinity of such an ellipsoid are discussed.

This problem is very important since the three-axial ellipsoid

generalizes both a sphere and spheroids. On the other hand, even

quite spherical particles have, in fact, asymmetries, which have

a considerable influence on their optical properties because all

resonance degenerations are removed.
