ABSTRACT
This chapter provides a short history of piezoelectric materials
and describes their properties and the underlying phenomenon. It
goes on to suggest and discuss a mechatronic model to simulate
piezoelectric transducers, outlining some of the most important
properties required for energy harvesting applications.
