ABSTRACT
The measured EMCD signal is obtained by an angular resolved electron
energy-loss experiment in the TEM performed under particular scattering condi-
tions. Therefore, the same considerations about signal-to-noise ratio and artefacts
as valid for EELS spectra apply here, with an additional caveat stemming from the
usually low intensity of the EMCD signal.
