ABSTRACT
Nanotechnology is regarded as a key technology for innovation
and technological progress in almost all branches of industry and
economy worldwide. Novel breakthroughs in the cutting-edge field
of nanotechnology, as a cross-sectional technology, show potential
to be applied to the whole value chain of the energy sector. This
chapter provides the definition of nanotechnology and describes
nanomaterials, production processes, and tools of nanotechnology.
