ABSTRACT
In optical electronics, the important future issue is the development
of high-performance functional materials such as electro-optic
(EO) materials and semiconductors for photovoltaic devices. By
developing high-performance EO materials, size, driving voltage,
and power consumption of optical interconnects and optical
switching systems will be drastically reduced. By developing high-
performance semiconductors, high-efficiency and low-cost solar
energy conversion systems will be realized.
