ABSTRACT

In this section on positive electrode materials, we will first discuss the above-mentioned LiFePO4 together with some notions on various polyanionic structure materials. Then, we will present the last developments on high-voltage spinel oxides and highcapacity layered oxides, considered as very promising candidates for future high-energy Li-ion batteries. For both families, the upper voltage limits are above the stability window of conventional electrolytes. For this reason, nanosize particles are naturally not appropriate to prevent rapid degradation of the electrolyte.
