In this chapter, we present a set of applications that exploit
surface plasmon (SP) generation, propagation, and concentration.
We discuss howplasmonic properties ofmetallic nanostructures can
be utilized in different fields, including nanoscale energy delivery,
hot electrons generation, hybrid metal-semiconductor systems, and
biosensing.
