ABSTRACT

The mechanical properties of as-spun PZT nanofibers are desired to be understood for future sensors and actuators applications. Electric field-induced resonant excitation based on in situ TEM8,9 or SEM10 was developed for directly measuring the mechanical properties of individual nanowire structures. Here, we achieve Young’s modulus measurement of single PZT nanofibers based on this technology. Young’s modulus of PZT nanofiber can be calculated from the resonant frequency excited by an oscillating electric field.
