ABSTRACT

Electronic transport properties of conventional metals and semi-

conductors are described in terms of quasiparticle excitations,

electrons, and holes. Simple analytical models of Fermi gas and

Fermi liquid provide an illustrative depiction of various electronic

phenomena, and they also allow a deeper understanding the

properties of composite systems in terms of elementary excitations

(Abrikosov 1988). They include transport in the inhomogeneous

structures, like tunneling junctions and constrictions (Wolf 2012),

and also account for influence the external DC magnetic (Ando and

Seri 1997, Arimura and Ando 2012) and AC electromagnetic fields

(Shafranjuk 2009, Shafranjuk 2011) on the electron transport of

charged particles in the conducting materials.
