ABSTRACT

Artificial lighting is an integral part of our lives that consumes nearly one-fifth of the planet’s electricity usage.95 Hence, by using more efficient devices that require less electricity, it is possible to dramatically reduce energy costs, thereby greatly cutting down global CO2 production. In this regard, ultraefficient lighting95 such as white organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) will play an important role. In the following, major types of OLED architectures for efficient white-light generation is discussed.
