ABSTRACT

PDA is a unique material in terms of colorimetric/fluorescence dual detection capability, convenient preparation through self-assembly, and subsequent photopolymerization. Separately, liposomes have been used for a sensory platform with the following benefits: (1) easy preparation via a self-assembly procedure, (2) protecting compounds inside liposomes from their exterior surroundings, and (3) providing loading spaces for various hydrophilic or/and hydrophobic agents. Therefore, PDA liposomes have integrated features of both PDA material and liposome platform together, i.e., label-free detection, sufficient colloidal stability, and tunable sensory signalization (Fig. 4.1).
