ABSTRACT

Superalloys are a group of Ni-, Fe-, and Co-base alloys specifically designed to operate in the temperature range of 500–1100°C in jet engines and land-based gas turbines [1]. These alloys are multicomponent complex alloys that, in addition to Ni, Fe, or Co, contain varying amounts of Cr, Mo, W, Nb, Al, Ti, Ta, Re, Hf, Zr, B, and C to obtain the desired strength, oxidation resistance, and corrosion resistance.
