ABSTRACT

The traditional approach for obtaining Ceramic components usually lead to the application of Moulding and Casting techniques that rely on the manufacture of moulds and dies; thus implying long and costly processes. The demand for Ceramic components is increasing due to the multiple applications of different Ceramic compounds, for instance, in the biomedical or in the aerospace industries. However, when biocompatibility and highly demanding customisation of parts arise, the increase in material requirements entails the use of advanced technical ceramics.
