ABSTRACT

A framework for dynamic simulation of an individual hydrodemetallization (HDM) particle under two-dimensional diffusion and reactions on common calculating software MATLAB 5.3 is built in this study. From the simulation results it is demonstrated that vanadyl etioporphyrin hydrodemetallization is a diffusion-limited sequential reaction with vanadyl etiochlorin as the reaction intermediate. Moreover, M-shaped profiles of metallic deposition on the catalyst particle in the radial direction are confirmed to be a result of the series reactions.
