ABSTRACT

In the 21st century, there have been many important themes of construction. The objects of this theme are reuse technologies, laboursaving technologies and temporary space applications. To resolve these issues, the “movable reuse system” is proposed. This system is formed with a kinetic structure based on masonry structure. This structure is named “String Crescent Structure (SCS).” SCS is formed by the Crescent Member (C-member), the arm, and the string. To form kinetic structure, the crescent-shaped C-member is used. In addition, the contact and the sliding of between C-members that were connected by arms are formed. This SCS becomes stable through string fixing and prestress. SCS is expected to reduce the number of used bolts, thus saving labour for construction/demolition. This type of structure is novel. To study its basic structural characteristic under the load, load experiments were performed.
