ABSTRACT

The rapid development of shortform video in the new media era has become a new opportunity for the development of the Internet. At the same time, the homogeneity and vulgarity of shortform video have become serious. “Idyllic” shortform video has gained a huge following on shortform video platforms. The thesis analyzes why “idyllic” shortform video is popular both in the West and East, and provides ideas of “nature” aesthetics, micronarrative strategy, and modern anxieties about those videos.
