ABSTRACT

The decision-making system involves an environmental impact assessment system which has suggested a nondestructive testing using hazardous substances and electrochemical machining (ECM) process generating hazardous substances as “hotspots” and more analyses should be included to minimize problems and help in sustainable production. The strategic sustainability assessment finally proposed mechanical milling as a replacement for ECM, although it is costly. The chapter highlights some existing course content modification and strategies undertaken to educate sustainability issues by various institutes and groups across the globe. C. F. Murphy et al. through their review and critical survey on sustainability in education has concluded that lots of activities are going on at a “grassroots” level on education and research related to sustainable engineering. V. Kumar et al. surveyed the importance and status of infusing sustainability concepts into mechanical/manufacturing education in some of the US universities.
