ABSTRACT

Church identifies the scientific revolution as one of the breeding grounds of Protestantism, as its thought emancipated science from religious culture and made man-since Pico della Mirandola and Erasmus-an analogue of God, fully capable of establishing sufficient contact with the Creator of the world and his work without the intervention of an intermediary-the Church.
