ABSTRACT
The skeleton is mainly constructed by bone tissue, and it presents many functions in the human body: support for soft tissues, a basis for muscle activity (biomechanical levers), protection for vital organs, production of blood cells (bone marrow), an important calcium, phosphate and other ions reservoir. Moreover, three ossicles located in the middle ear act in the mechanical aspect of hearing (malleus, incus and stapes).
