ABSTRACT
Two variants of a new generation, low cost thermal sensing system are described with applications in a wide range of commercial environments. The first variant of this generic enabling technology is a detection sensor with applications in, for example, monitoring and tracking the movement of people about spaces, and counting people into and out of defined areas. The second variant is a very low cost thermal imager with a capability for temperature measurement, which may be used for any non-contact temperature measurement and thermal surveying task.
