ABSTRACT

Integrated pest management (IPM) is a practical approach that uses a combination of methods, including cultural, biological and chemical controls, to maintain pest abundance or damage without economic loss. This chapter emphasizes ways to prevent damaging infestations and estimate abundance and evaluate damage to determine when remedial action with insecticide is justified for insect pests of sorghum, Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench. Insect pests, their biologies, and natures and symptoms of damage are described.
