Attitudes and Their Influence on Nature Valuation and Management in Relation to Sustainable Development

In this chapter the concept of biodiversity is viewed as analogous to the Convention on Biological Diversity: “Biodiversity is the variability among living organisms from all sources, including inter alia, terrestrial, marine and other aquatic ecosystems, and the ecological complexes of which these are a part: this includes diversity within species, between species and of ecosystems” (UNCED, 1992).
