Societal paradigms for understanding and labeling youth may affect the type of alcohol-related prevention programming that is supported. Additionally, the degree of understanding about interrelationships between individual-and populationrisks for drinking-related harm by levels of alcohol consumption may affect how communities choose specific prevention strategies.
