ABSTRACT

The crop choice and water/salt flow components of the model described in the preceding chapters represents a preliminary development of an integrated dynamic model of the Argolid. Earlier chapters have described the complicated interactions that have defined the Argolid farming environment and the decisions relating to it. These have been greatly simplified in the preliminary model which omits many of the attributes that are necessary to provide a reasonable framework for policy exploration. Each of the key processes modelled so far (decision making, crop production and hydrology) would benefit from the inclusion of additional factors.
