ABSTRACT
Feature extraction is the core of methodologies aimed at building new and more expressive features from the existing ones. This representation change typically allows one to enlighten characteristics of data that are not immediately evident in the original space. As a consequence, performance can be improved at the expenses of reduced interpretation capability by domain experts.
