ABSTRACT
During the investigation I found that several checks had been stolen from the back of a payroll checkbook in the safe of the payroll ocer on a ship in the bay. e payroll ocer didn’t even know the checks were missing because they were taken from the back of the checkbook. I also found that the checks were written on computers at San Diego State University and stamped with the signature of the payroll ocer. e rubber stamp had misspelled the word “naval” as “navel.” is was a clue that led to a rubber stamp store in Tijuana, Mexico.
