ABSTRACT

Reducing unsafe behaviors and enhancing safety concepts can reduce the likelihood of accidents. Previous studies (Zohar, 1980; Brown and Holmes, 1986; Coyle et al., 1995; Diaz and Cabrera, 1997; Neal et al., 2000) have indicated that the probability of worker-related incidents can be reduced by improving employees’ safety cognition. Therefore, if the gas industry creates a good safety climate, shapes the employees’ correct views on safety, and enhances their attention to safety, the performance of employees in safe acts can be improved, and the incidents of gas leak or explosion can be reduced.
