ABSTRACT
Oil extraction is possible using geochemical techniques that allow detecting and marking the reservoir area (Peters & Fowler, 2002). The reservoir may exist on earth or sea and extracted crude oil is usually transported to oil refineries by tankers or pipelines, being then stored in tanks whether of floating or fixed ceilings (Elvers, 2008).
