ABSTRACT
The aim of this chapter is to give an introduction to methods of quantummechanics that can be applied to optics as well as an introduction to quantum optics (QO). The purpose of the latter is to grant a fast access for the reader who is familiar with optics and wishes to extend her/his studies to the realm where quantum effects determine the behavior of light.
