ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: City parks are carriers for urban forestation and ecosystem improvement. In park design and planning by cities in China, rainwater control and utilization is often missing. As a result, city parks do not mitigate water-logging, and their water consumptions are acutely increasing. The thesis takes Tuanjiehu Park as a case study. By analyzing the current rainwater utilization status and existing problems, combines rainwater utilization and landscape ecological design, and constructs a rainwater utilization system with pervious pavement, sunken lawn, and detention tanks, in order to improve the efficiency of rainwater utilization, alleviate urban drainage burden, and tackle water crisis in the park.
