ABSTRACT
Arabinofuranose 1,2,5-orthobenzoate1-6 (5, see Scheme 19.1) is a convenient precursor for a number of mono-and oligosaccharide building blocks,7-9 which are useful for the synthesis of oligosaccharides related to the fragments of mycobacterial lipoarabinomannan and arabinogalactan.10
